Shelby Community Foundation Snowflake Social
A Special Evening Highlighting Wines and Foods from Michigan

On Friday, January 20, 2012, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, Vince and Joe’s Market and Cherry Creek Golf Club and Banquet Center are collaborating with the Shelby Community Foundation to provide a unique “Imported from Michigan” Wine Tasting and food experience for the Foundation’s Snowflake Social.  Proceeds benefit Foundation programs including scholarships for graduating seniors, support for special needs and foster children, food bank assistance and much more.

The partnership is showcasing wines and foods from Michigan.  Cherry Creek is creating innovative food stations representing the four seasons of Michigan.  Some of the dishes for the evening include:

Bettermade™ Encrusted Perch
Grilled Tomato Bruchetta
Grilled Italian Sausage
Fall Harvest Squash Soup
Michigan Cornbread
Pistachio Encrusted Pork Tenderloin with Michigan Cherry Chutney
Hardy Michigan Pot Pie
Salad
Flowing Sander™ Chocolate Fountain with Dipping Items

Vince and Joe’s wine distributors and representatives will serve at each of the food stations.  Their expertise will help guests find the wines that suit their tastes and balance with the foods.  The specifically chosen wines complement the unique flavors of each season’s food.  Wine cards allow all attendees to mark and comment on their favorite wines.  It is also possible to order wines at the event.

Ted Ross, Wine Director / Sommelier of Vince and Joe’s and Tracy Antenucci of Cherry Creek welcome the opportunity to create this collaborative event with the Shelby Community Foundation.  Give Where You Live is promoted by the Foundation.  The Wine Tasting Snowflake Social is a festive evening that adds Celebrate Where You Live to that promotion!

The cost is $40 per person.  The proceeds benefit Foundation programs in the greater Shelby area.  Information is available on the Foundation’s website (shelbycommunityfoundation.org) or by calling 586-909-5305.

Cherry Creek is creating an International flavor with food stations representing four international locations.

The Italian station includes familiar favorites such as pasta primavera, cheese tortellini with tomato basil sauce, bruchetta, and fresh baked garlic bread.

The Chilean/Argentina station brings the spice of South America with paella and rice with sausage and beans.

The Asian station provides oriental delicacies that include a seafood/beef skewer, chicken wonton, and Asian noodles.

The Michigan station proudly focuses on products from the Wolverine State.  This includes cherry and apple elements, walleye, perch, Better-made potato chips, and more.  In this difficult economy, we want to emphasize the variety of food and wine items from Michigan.

The Dessert Station satisfies our sweet tooth with assorted dipping items and a flowing chocolate fountain!

Vince and Joe’s wine distributors and importers will serve at each of the five food stations.  They will help guests find the wines that suit their tastes and balance with the foods. The specifically chosen wines at each of the five stations complement the unique flavors of each international area’s food and the dessert station.  Wine cards allow all attendees to mark and comment on their favorite wines.  It is also possible to order wines at the event.
